Biography: Bullock's first major role was opposite of Sylvester Stallone in "Demolition Man" (1993). She again surprised audiences with her performance in 1994's "Speed."
By 1995, she starred in "The Net", a movie about conspiracy. Her role in "Hope Floats" (1998) gave her a more endearing and likeable quality. She then moved on to have roles in "The Prince of Egypt" (1998) and "Practical Magic" (1998).
A major film hit for Bullock was her starring role in "Miss Congeniality" (2000), which also starred Benjamin Bratt. In 2005, she came back to do a sequel to the film.
Bullock is noteworthy for the diverse roles she has under her belt, including a role as a crime investigator in "Murder By Numbers" (2002), as well as her role in "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." Continuing her success, she starred opposite of Hugh Grant in the romantic comedy "Two Weeks Notice." In 2005, the racially tense "Crash" gave Bullock a very different character to play.
