Biography: Audiences are most familiar with Applegate's character Kelly Bundy, dumb blonde, on Fox's "Married With Children" (1987-1997). Applegate did not want to become typecasted as a dumb blonde/sexpot, she moved on to star in such films as "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" (1991), a comedy about a teenager girl who has to figure out how to make money for her brothers and sisters while their mother is out of town and their babysitter dies.
She continued to make appearances in films like "Mars Attacks!" (1996) and "Mafia!" (1998). After a brief sitcom stint in "Jesse" (1998), she went back to a supporting role in 2002's "The Sweetest Thing," which Cameron Diaz starred in. She then played another role in "View From the Top", which included Gwyneth Paltrow as its star.
Her latest endeavors include a role opposite of Will Ferrell in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" (2004). She has also danced with the Pussycat Dolls. She also performed in a Broadway show "Sweet Charity" (2005).
