Biography: 50 Cent/Curtis Jackson III was born and raised in
Southside Jamaica, Queens by his hustling mother, who died when he was
eight. His father died in his early childhood as well, and his grandmother
became his primary caretaker.

until he ran into problems with the law. In the mid-90s, 50 Cent met DJ
Jam Master Jay, and he began to transfer his life's ambitions into the rap
scene. He started off with such singles as "How To Rob" and
"Thug Love." None of these efforts proved much ongoing success,
but he continued on and formed a rap group called G-Unit.
50 Cent signed onto Shady/Aftermath records noted by their owners, Eminem and
Dr. Dre, respectively. This launched his first nationally acclaimed album Get
Rich or Die Tryin', which included such successful radio singles as "Wanksta",
"In Da Club", and "21 Questions". Soon after this
album was released, came his group project G-Unit's Beg For Mercy, which
enjoyed moderate successful among audiences with ear pleasing hits like
"Beg For Mercy", "Smile", and "Groupie Love".
His last released album The Massacre included such hits as "Candy
Shop" and "Outta Control". He has recently finished touring
with fellow label mates like Eminem for Anger Management Tour 2005
concerts. Currently, 50 Cent is endeavoring a lucrative acting career and
his pseudo-biopic Get Rich or Die Tryin' was released in fall 2005.
